Forests are essential for life – they provide natural resources, filter the air, purify water, protect soil from erosion, and serve as home to millions of plant and animal species. They are also one of the most important carbon sinks, playing a crucial role in combating climate change.

That is why every year, FSC® Forest Week is organized – a global campaign led by the Forest Stewardship Council® to remind us of the importance of responsible forest management. It is one of the largest international initiatives dedicated to protecting nature and promoting conscious consumer choices.

This year’s edition takes place on 20–26 September 2025, encouraging consumers, businesses, and organizations to take their “One Simple Action” for forests – steps that together form a powerful force in protecting nature. Last year, over 1,400 organizations worldwide joined the campaign, reaching 150 million people.

How do we care for forests as a company?
Our mission is to use wood resources responsibly in our production processes while treating ecological priorities as equally important as social and economic ones. We focus on the rational use of wood by investing in technology and solutions that optimize the consumption of wood and wood-based materials.

We ensure that the materials we use meet the standards of responsible and legal timber sourcing. An increasing share of the wood and wood-based materials we purchase comes from sustainably managed forests certified by FSC® or PEFC. Since 2009, we have been supporting sustainable forestry as a certified participant in the FSC® supply chain.
What is FSC®?
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international non-profit organization uniting environmental groups, forest owners, social organizations, and wood and paper processing companies. FSC® promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests to maintain balance between forest conservation – vitality and biodiversity – and the demand for wood, both for current and future generations.

Core principles of FSC®:
  • Zero deforestation – although trees are harvested, forests are not diminished over time.
  • Nature protection – FSC® standards require the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of areas with high conservation value.
  • Respect for the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities – forest management contributes to long-term social and economic well-being.
  • Fair and safe working conditions for forestry workers.
These principles must be respected at every stage – from forest cultivation and harvesting to wood processing, finished product manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and sales. Under the FSC® certification system, each link in the supply chain – every entity taking ownership of certified products – must hold its own FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certificate and undergo regular audits by independent third parties.
