Through our Environmental Management Depar tments, we are able to identify where in the organization we should focus our effor ts to prevent and reduce our waste. Our Waste INTERNAL RUSE EXTERNAL RUSE Waste from some processes is reused as raw material for other processes: ü We recover solvents through the distillation process. ü The fabric scraps from our textile process are used for machine cleaning and maintenance. ü We convert our organic waste into compost for the improvement of soils in the reforestation area and gardens in Costa Rica. ü In Colombia, we design products that reuse waste for their development. More than 400 tons are recovered annually to manufacture new products, about 114.000 meters of coated fabrics. We have a network of authorized suppliers in both manufacturing facilities that are in charge of managing our waste, allowing entrepreneurs to develop businesses. In Costa Rica, we donate our vinyl scraps to the Surí project, which transforms these scraps into other products under the brand “Transformarte”. Likewise, we support other projects where we supply our materials to be used by others. With these projects, we generate employment for more than 200 Costa Rican families.
