Toyota Case study EN

The Levitate system has one more advantage. Elevated seats mean the em- ployees of the Austrian Toyota branch have to adjust their position during the meeting. They have to change their perspective, both literally and figuratively. Also, when you’re seated higher, you have a better view of the city. The glass walls of the Twin Towers office building offer a perfect opportunity to admire the city, especially when you’re situated on the 23 rd floor. But if you sit on a Levitate bench, you don’t even have to approach the window in order to feel that Vienna is within reach. This view enchants everybody: be it an employee or a guest. Even if you’re far from the glass walls, you can see the city unfolding in front of your eyes like the contemporary emakimono – a papyrus scroll that Japanese artists used to paint landscapes. This aspect also mattered when we were choosing office equipment and colours together with the Toyota team. Furniture with sharp lines, imposing shapes and vivid colours would dominate the space, steal the attention and stifle the amazing view behind the windows. We picked simple and clean lines and neutral colours so as to show our respect to the outstand- ing history and architecture of Vienna. The fifth Toyota precept: Above and on the left: since the office is on the 23 rd floor, all employees can enjoy an additional perk – the beautiful view of the city. Always have respect for God and remember to be grateful at all times The office building was completed in 2001. It is part of the district known as Wienerberger City, which straddles the historical part of Vienna and leisure grounds. It was designed by a world- famous architect, Massimiliano Fuksas. Specialists believe this building is one of the most interesting examples of contemporary architecture. The twin towers mentioned in the name are of different heights – one has 37 and the other – 35 storeys – and they are positioned at an unobvious angle of 59 degrees to one another, which means the blocks look different on each side. This makes the whole construction look alive and dynamic. The towers are connected by five glazed corridor- bridges. One of them is on the 23 rd floor and joins two parts of the Toyota office.
