Solutions We wanted our new office to address three issues identified in the previous locations: impeded communication between branches, space mismatched to the needs of all employees, and a diversity of work styles and needs of the individual departments relative to office space available. Objectives of the functional office design 26 — satisfy employees’ needs at a general and specialised level, — divide the office into three different types of workspaces (shared rooms, an open space with individually assigned workstations, and a desk-sharing space), — create multiple different spaces for meetings, to improve communication, — create a spacious kitchen located centrally in the office, to be the heart of the office and a place where employees can meet and integrate.
