16 Organisation analysis We help customers arrange and fit out their office spaces every day. We knew there was no way we could mess up arranging our own office. The shoemaker’s children are ill-shod? Perhaps, but we decided to tailor-make our own shoes, and make them perfect. To meet this challenge, we started with an analysis of our organ- isation. We made use of well-proven methods of qualitative and quantitative research which we utilise working for our customers. We wanted to get an in-depth understanding of the needs of de- partments working in our Kraków branches, as well as the manage- ment perspective. We studied the style of work in the individual departments and the customs at each of the offices. It turned out we were very different. The results of a satisfaction survey for the existing office were not great either. It became apparent we had a lot of catching up to do.
